Last Few days in Chiang Mai :( (27th- 30th Nov)

Over the last 10 days or so we have had so much to report in on , after the trek we were knackered , all very tired for different reasons spanning from not sleeping because some people wanted to have some fun , although the night on the water fall was beautiful , how  ever this was not 5* accommodation , a bamboo floor with self adjusting rocks just to make sure you did not sleep :( any way to my point , we …. as in Nay ,Gibbo ,Mark ,Ian ,and myself all decided to have some good old western food , so we decided to go to bar that we had seen earlier in the week , that will be 5 burgers and chips with a side of GARRRLIC Bread please , now i would not talk about something so trivial about on the burger front is was  A* quality  , so as we ate , the Thai girl behind the bar challenged the lads to a game of pool , bearing in mind she was about 70lbs and looked like she had never picked a pool cue up in her life , till she struck a ball …….he had just been hustled with the best of them Paul Newman would have been proud : ) SO we all went back to the BMP for an early night ….. 3 of us went to bed …. the other 2 decided to just to pop out and have a few …… they returned at 8.30 am the next day with some new found friends !!! the kinda ones that want passports !!!

So the next day we all decided to just lie by the pool and literally do NOTHING !!! well until the 2 MIA people turned up and we could have a little fun at there expense .

The next day came around quickly thank god as one day at the pool was more than enough for the both of us . We had a chat with the Mark and Gibbo about renting some “peds”  the night before and going to Tiger Kingdom which is a place where there about 20 Tigers and some other Big Cats , but u can actually go in with them and get your picture took , a bit like the local petting zoo with a little twist , I had looked it up on www.Tripadvisor.co.uk .90% people said it was an amazing place the 10 % were saying that the tigers we drugged up . with this information in hand we set off .

After about 40 min Journey on the peds , we arrived what looked like a small place(in context to a normal zoo) There was some one to greet you and ask what you wanted to do , just to get entrance it was 320bht (about 6 £) that would get you access to the big tigers in the main complex , if you wanted them to go and play with more there was an additional cost of  about 500bht (10£)

We really did not know what to expect , i myself was looking forward to seeing these big cats up close and personal , there nothing like looking at 200KG puddie cat to make the heart race .These cats we just an awesome site , When we sat beside the first cat called Michal Jackson , we were all stroking them like you cat back home, it was jumping around quite a lot , till the keeper said , your tickling him , you have slap him for to realise that you showing him affection , i don't know about you , but slapping a 200kg tiger to show him affection was a little odd !! As we moved around the enclosure to see the other cats , the have a electric fence to keep them off the pathway were visitors enter the cage , now that's sounds awful, but to give you an idea how strong it is , nay lent on it and she said tingled that's all (something like (9v Battery on your tongue) , anyway to my point , i was going to get a picture with the last cat and stumbled towards the fence and the keeper said to me be careful it is electrified , bollox to that i nearly fell on the tiger , i will take getting electrocuted all day over falling on him :)

After we left the Tiger Kingdom , we had no real hard and fast plan of what to do , so we stopped of a somewhere to eat and try and formulate a plan .

So in true planning fashion we just turned left towards the mountain and hoped for the best , all we got told make sure you have a full tank of petrol , the roads were amazing also there was no one really on them , they snaked all the way to top with breath taking views ,the kind thing that would make Richard Hammond jealous , As we neared the top of the mountain , we noticed a sign that said Beer Hut , well we just have to investigate that ……. as we turned left of the road we travelled down a dirt path for about 5 minutes ,i turned to nay was on the back of the ped saying this is going to be amazing or we never getting  out alive.

It was truly spectacular it was an old woman's house as we drove she greeted us with a Thai smile and showed us the menu , of beer or Coke , 3 beers pls and a Coke for the lady :)

After we had done our road trip and called it a day , the next morning the lads went on to Laos for a week , so our plan was to make a plan about Christmas ,as everyone has panicked us , to ensuring we have digs for that week .

Thats all for now , we are on our way to Hanoi now to see what that has in store for us .
